Consent & Usage
We believe that stories shared by the community should be treated with care, transparency, and respect.
By submitting photographs or audio recordings, you are agreeing to share your work publicly - on this website and accompanying map, and potentially in exhibitions, public presentations, social media, reports, or community events related to the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan.
This helps ensure that your voice can reach others and contribute to a broader conversation about life in Boulder - aligning with the goals of the Voicing Boulder and the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan for 2025, which centers community engagement, equity, and inclusive storytelling.
Your Rights
You retain ownership of your audio or images. You're simply giving us permission to share them as part of this civic engagement project.
You can choose to share your name, use a first name only, or remain anonymous.
If you change your mind, you can contact us to update or remove your contribution (unless it has already been included in printed or permanent materials).
Your imagery will never be sold, licensed, or otherwise profited from.
Recording with Care
When gathering sounds or taking photos in public spaces:
Be respectful. Let people know if you're clearly capturing them.
Avoid private conversations or restricted areas.
If someone asks not to be recorded or photographed, honor that without question.

How We Use Your Work
We may make light edits (e.g., trimming silence or cropping for clarity), but we will never change the meaning of your contribution. All content is used with the intent to inform, connect, and uplift and never to exploit.
Your submission may also appear as part of a combined artistic presentation - alongside other voices and images - to imagine a collective vision of Boulder’s future. Any creative framing will remain true to the spirit of your contribution.
Location details are used solely to help us map your submission. They will never be shared or used for any other purpose.
Please note: all submissions are reviewed before appearing publicly - this may take up to 24–48 hours.
